Join us for a reception with Seminole State College Center for the Fine & Performing Arts. The City of Sanford invites you to an opening reception on Thursday, March 7 at 4:30pm- 5:30 pm, second floor, City Hall, for the “Seminole State College Gallery at City Hall”. The new Art at City Hall exhibit space on the second Floor of City Hall provides additional exhibit space for local artists to display their work on a rotating basis.

Viktoryia McGrath and Marina Burgner curated the exhibition, comprised of works of art, from the Seminole State College of Florida’s permanent collection. The artists represented exhibited their student work in the Annual Student Showcase of the Seminole State College, beginning in the late 1960s through the present day. Each of these works received honors at the exhibition, each year a different guest judge was chosen from the region. This is the second exhibit from the permanent collection that has been shown at the second floor Mayor’s Gallery at Sanford City Hall.

“We at The Center for the Fine and Performing Arts at Seminole State College of Florida are very grateful for our ongoing partnership with the City of Sanford and the City of Sanford Public Art Commission. It is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our permanent art collection of student work for the enjoyment of the public, and aspirational for our student artists. The work speaks to the dedication of our faculty to teaching studio art and the talent and skill of our students” said Dr. Michele Cuomo, Dean of Arts and Communications.
